Are you in the same boat as many other people who have a large collection of photographs built up over the years? If so then these probably represent a lot of happy memories for you – friends, family, social events, happy occasions and notable events throughout your life.
It’s quite possible that you may have collected hundreds, or even thousands, of photos over time. IT’s a shame that, like most of us, you can’t display more than a few at any one time.
Perhaps you have chosen a few of your personal favourites to display in standard photo frames throughout your home. Maybe you’ve got a few more on your desk at work. Yet more might be gathered in photo albums – which you probably look at once in a blue moon, when the fancy takes you.
Far and away the large majority of your photos – your happy memories – will be stored away in biscuit tins, old boxes or envelopes. they could be down in the basement, up in the loft, jammed into a drawer or out in the garage. One thing is guaranteed – you hardly ever see them, and neither does anybody else.

The mat board is the piece of your wooden photo frames that will support your picture. It’s important to look at the good and bad sides of each of the three mat board types you can choose. By looking deeply into each, you can begin to determine which mat board will be right for you.
Problematic But Cheap: Paper Matboard
Essentially crafted from wood pulp, paper matboard is well known for its acidic traits. Though some companies say they are acid free, this is not actually true — if there is wood pulp involved, there will naturally be acid. What companies mean when they say this is that they’ve buffered the pulp so the acid level is less on the surface, but in five years or so that acid count will bounce back and damage your picture — paper matboard is really only good to store things on a temporary basis.
On the positive side, paper matboard is also cheap.
