When we launched our web site featuring the best in math comic strips, one of our main goals was to offer a vehicle to teach math to children. In this world of heavy distractions, such as television and video games, we realized that we would be coming up against some heavy competition. Math is too many kids, well, boring, and too much like work. How could we possibly make learning math fun?
The format of a comic book is ideal for a number of reasons. To begin, comics have stood the test of time. Long before there was a 24 hour cartoon network there was the humble comic. Children would be huddled under their blankets late at night, comic book and flashlight in hand. Comics are a very visual learning tool, portable, requiring no attachments or electricity, or strange as it may sound, even an internet connection.

Most kids discover dinosaurs at some point in their childhood. I’m not sure what the exact fascination is but I can guess that these weird looking creatures just get into their imagination and they want to learn everything they can about them. For kids that want a bit more of an interactive experience, then the latest thing is interactive dinosaur toys. Having a robotic pet is a huge craze this Christmas, so why not be original and go for a robotic dinopet instead of a hamster, cat, dog or parrot ? This article will describe three such “pets” and to whom they might suit.
The first interactive dinosaur toy goes by the name of D-Rex. He is a Tyrannosaurus Rex the king of all dinosaurs, even though he only lived in one period of the Dinosaur years and much of the information we have is speculation. I would suggest that D-Rex as a fun toy for kids 6 and up. Adults will probably get a kick out of him too (or maybe that should be a bite).

Almost every year, there seems to be at least one toy that stores can’t seem to keep stock of. In years past, we’ve seen the craze has been for toys likeTickle Me Elmo, Cabbage Patch Kids or Webkinz. This year, the rage is all about Zhu Zhu pets.
These adorable little toys are made in the image of the average hamster, but without all the upkeep. They look and feel as though they are real, live hamsters, and yet they do not require being fed and watered. Best of all, the hamster will never die, so long as you continue to replace his batteries.
But should you bother getting one? Live hamsters themselves are relatively low in price, although if you decide to accessorize, you might find yourself spending a bit more than you expected. Most people can see a pro in not having to worry about how rough a kid is playing with it or having to change the cage. But some have presented concern that this toy is fails to teach children any sense of responsibility has far as pets are concerned.

Deciding between crib or bassinet as a baby bedding, is one of the necessary elements for planning the nursery. There is much more to the purchase of baby bedding than appearance- there are many factors to consider when buying nursery bedding.
Quality of fabric is a key feature to consider when shopping for baby bedding. Baby bedding needs to be versatile so that it meets both the comfort needs of the baby and the need for durability. It’s important that that bedding does not lose its shape as improperly fitting crib sheets are a danger.
The ability of the baby bedding fabric to maintain the baby’s body temperature at a level that is safe and allows the baby to rest comfortably is an important thing to consider when making a purchase. Considering the safety and health of a child, it’s important to make sure that its blanket is neither too heavy nor too light.
Factors to determine are the kind of fabric that it is, will it keep your baby warm when needed or cool when needed, also the temperature of the room the bed will be in. Depending on the temperature of the baby’s room, cotton or acrylic will be the appropriate baby girls bedding sets.

One of the very first things in the preparation of your home for the new arrival is going out to buy baby bedding. Your baby’s room should be free of hazards, well-arranged, and aesthetically pleasing for both you and your baby, because this is the room where both of you will be spending a good deal of time. You have many options when choosing where to get your nursery decor including high-end baby shops, second-hand shops and borrowing from friends. Wherever you find the items that match your style, you can make a beautiful sanctuary for your baby with special blue and brown decor.
The choice of patterns and styles of baby bedding and the window treatments and wall treatments to match is as wide as the range of families bringing home infants. Some parents may prefer subtle colors and simple patterns to create a space that is not overwhelming. Using characters from children’s books, tv shows, or movies, is also a popular theme for those furnishing their infant’s room. Some parents decorate the nursery with bright, vibrant colors and patterns, hoping to stimulate visual and brain development in their child. Some couples decide to choose a theme that reflects their heritage. There are almost limitless options, but if you choose a less common design for your baby’s room, you may have to do some detective work to find the decorations and accessories you need.

Honor your precious gift by making baby’s new room comfortable and hazard-free. Choosing the right bedding is very important as much of your baby’s time will be spent sleeping. Mommy should begin preparations several months before it’s time for baby to come just in case baby has other ideas about the due date!
Be prepared with the basics in bedding by having at least two or three crib sheets. You will want to have a stack of extra crib sheets available, since brand new babies often spit up and have other accidents, necessitating frequent bedding changes. Nursery decor includes wall decorations and window treatments that please parents, but they really have no bearing on the well-being of a baby.
Baby bedding can play a major part of the nursery’s decor, so first be sure to think long and hard about the color scheme and other possible themes for the nursery. You might choose pink if you are having a girl or blue for a boy. You may choose other colors, pastels, and browns if you don’t know your baby’s gender or would like to try something different.

Over 25 million copies of Stephenie Meyer’s novel “Twilight” have been sold. A teen following grabbed onto the books hungrily, and most of these teens flocked to the movie adaption in November 2008. The resulting franchise has created a pop culture phenomenon that is an irresistible hit with teens and tweens.
Now that the movie has come out, there are countless items of movie memorabilia available. One of the most popular of these items is Twilight posters. These posters come in sizes and styles of all kinds. Many feature the now famous actors from the movie. s
Twilight posters are pictured with the images of Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), and all your favorite Twilight characters. Many of these posters feature these main characters, mortal and immortal, staring deep into each other’s eyes with a passionate desire.
Twilight is a classic love story that is relevant to teens and has created a following similar to the demographic of the High School Musical movies. Teens love to put classic movie posters on their bedroom wall that show what they’re currently into. It’s a reflection of their personality in a way.

There is a new toy in town, and it’s taking the world by storm. Bakugan toys are sweeping the nation, and kids everywhere are clamoring to get their hands on them. You’ve probably already heard of this from your kids or seen the show on tv, but what in the world are these Bakugan?
If you are a parent or just interested in Bakugan, you probably wonder what this whole craze is about right? Well, put simply, it is a game based of a Japanese Cartoon called Bakugan Battle Brawlers which first aired early 2007. Earth’s protectors and saviors from an alternate reality are a group of children who call themselves the Bakugan Battle Brawlers.
The main character in the cartoon is Dan Kuso, who is accompanied by his crack team of Battle Brawler friends who together end up defending the Earth from the evil Naga. It all starts when these strange cards fall from the sky all around the world. The children invent a game, and quickly discover there is more to it than meets the eye, and it may just be more than a simple game. The brawls in Bakugan involve throwing down a special sphere onto a gate card, which releases the monster contained within. The two Bakugan battle, and to the victor goes the spoils.
